T2 (3-12-0) will matchup against Sacramento Republic FC (7-2-6) for the fourth and final time this season. Sacramento enters Saturday’s match following a four-game winless streak dating back to September 12, allowing eight goals and scoring seven. Republic FC currently holds a 4-0-4 record at home and will play their last regular season match against T2 before starting their playoff run. Sacramento locked their seventh consecutive postseason appearance earning the second seed from Group A and will travel to face the winner of Group A – either Phoenix Rising FC or LA Galaxy II – for the opening round of the 2020 USL Championship playoffs.

For the second week in a row, Jorge Gonzalez earned a spot on the USL Championship Team of the Week. Gonzalez received the honors for his performance in T2’s 3-1 victory on September 24 over the Tacoma Defiance, where the midfielder recorded his second brace of the season. During the contest, Gonzalez increased his season total to eight goals for a team best. Marcus Epps is Portland’s second leading scorer with four. From September 16 to 24, the tandem tallied at least one goal each over three consecutive matches. Giovanni Calixtro holds the team lead in assists with three. Ken Krolicki and Futty Danso recently recovered from injuries and look to give T2 a boost leading into their final match.

T2 head coach Cameron Knowles commented on the upcoming final match of the season stating, “They are a very good team, but also a team we have matched up really well with this season. We had a heart-breaking result at home against them where they scored with the last kick of the game, and that will no doubt be in the back of our minds.” Knowles later went on to say, “We have a week to prepare, which is a luxury we haven’t been afforded for some time, so we should be ready for a great game against a top side, with the opportunity to finish the season on a high note.”
