Portland is coming off their best performance of the season, defeating the Tacoma Defiance 3-0 on September 9 at Providence Park. Aaron Molloy assisted on Gonzalez’s first score earning his first assist of the season. Goalkeeper Jake Leeker finished with four saves, helping Portland earn its first clean sheet of the season. Leeker’s performance also earned him a spot as a reserve on the USL Championship Team of the Week. T2 head coach Cameron Knowles was pleased with how his team bounced back against a tough loss against Reno stating, “We talked a lot in the locker room after the Reno game. Obviously, it was a very difficult result. We had a few good meetings with the guys this week and talked about how that match was a bit of an anomaly. We had a real good spirit about us leading into the match against Tacoma and it helped lead to a great result.”
Following tomorrow’s match, T2 will face Reno 1868 FC on September 20 at Providence Park; kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (Pacific), and the match will be available on ESPN+.
