HILLSBORO, OR (January 9, 2020) – Timbers 2 (@TimbersFC2) announced details for their 34-game, 2020 regular-season schedule today. The team will kick off the 2020 USL Championship season with an away match against Phoenix Rising FC on March 7. T2 will square off against each Western Conference team in one home and one away match during the 34-game USL Championship regular season. The USL Championship season runs from March through October.
After playing their first two regular-season matches on the road, Timbers 2’s home opener and debut in Hillsboro, will take place on Sunday, March 22 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Hillsboro Stadium, the new home field for T2.
Timbers 2 will play home matches on five different days of the week this season. In addition to playing nine Sunday home matches, which includes matches on Easter Sunday and Mother’s Day, T2 will play host four Saturday matches, two Wednesday matches and one match on a Friday and one match on a Tuesday. Following the home regular-season finale on Friday, Oct. 10, against LA Galaxy II at Hillsboro Stadium, Timbers 2 closes out the 2020 regular season on the road at H-E-B Park against Rio Grande Valley FC on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The Hillsboro Hops who are partnered with Timbers 2 will be hosting their annual Fan Fest on Saturday, May 16th. Following Fan Fest, T2 will take on rival Tacoma Defiance, affiliate of the Seattle Sounders.
The Timbers 2 May 27th match against New Mexico United will be Providence Health & Fitness Day hosted at Providence Park. The 2020 season marks the tenth year of the Providence Health & Fitness Day program, promoting healthy living to youth in the community through soccer.
T2 and the Hops will share the limelight again on Saturday, August 29th with a doubleheader event.
Season tickets for Timbers 2 home matches start at $170 and are now on sale by calling the T2 business office at (503) 640-0887. Mini plans and group opportunities are also available. Single-game tickets for Timbers 2 home games will go on sale on Tuesday, February 11th at 10am on www.Timbers2.com.
FIFA certified FieldTurf CORE will be installed as the playing surface for Timbers 2 games at Hillsboro Stadium – the same playing surface used at Providence Park.
